Boothe Center Events

Sharpening the Mind. Stirring the Spirit. Cultivating Fellowship.

Our Annual Events

We host two annual gatherings to edify God’s people.

FALL EVENT

Fall Symposium

In conjunction with the annual ETS meeting, this symposium serves as a theological fountainhead for the Black evangelical tradition. Fellows and scholars present original research to advance the Black evangelical witness, followed by an evening of fellowship for those seeking a theological home grounded in sound doctrine.

Location:
Held in the host city of the Evangelical Theological Society

Primary Audience:
Scholars, Graduate Students, and Pastors

SPRING EVENT

Spring Celebration

This Memphis-based gathering celebrates the African American Christian tradition and equips believers to engage historical and contemporary topics vital to the Black Christian witness. Grounded in Scripture, we explore the Bible’s implications for all of life while fostering fellowship and partnership in the Gospel.

Location:
Memphis, Tennessee

Primary Audience:
Seminary Students, Pastors, and Laypeople

Why We Gather

Our events are more than just lectures, they are spaces where the Good Book is opened, and the riches of the Black evangelical tradition are applied to the pressing questions of our day. We gather because retrieval is a communal task and reflection breeds fellowship that moves sound doctrine from the page to the heart that strengthens the relationship between the church and the academy.
